Lawson Replica Horn Cup
Our Lawson french horn cups are faithful tributes to the originals with #11 throats and Lawson's 3/8 concave back-bore. They have a unique thread size that makes them compatible with Lawson rims only. Lawson cups are offered in two cup shapes and two widths at the joint.
S cup is gently concave and is designed to produce an efficiently balanced amount of power throughout the instrument's range, have good overall intonation as well as smooth slurs between the harmonics.
F cup is slightly more concave with the basic S curve toward the rim. This cup produces more power and ease of playing in the upper register, good intonation, and quick staccato response.
The narrow .660 cup width at the joint fits .690 and .695 rims.
The wider .670 cup width at the joint fits .700 and .705 rims.
The cubic contents of all the cups are nearly the same and are matched electronically to operate most efficiently on modern double horns.
